Cross Country Competes at New England Championship

HOPKINTON, N.H. – The Brown Bears competed at the New England Cross Country Championships on Friday, Oct. 11. 19 teams from around the region competed in the women's 5K run, while 17 teams scored points in the men's 8K.
The women's team competed first, finishing in 10th place and scoring 291 points.
Leading the pack for the Bears was Sarah Paul who finished 34th with a time of 18:48.09. Katrina Sortland was next for Brown finishing 55th with a time of 19:12.74. Sara Perez (62nd/19:18.03), Olivia Bergin (69th/19:25.20) and Eve Siff-Scherr (116th/20:12.28) rounded out Brown's top five.
Kaela Brenner (118th/20:15.09) and Julia Soderbery (144th/21:01.92) were the final two finishers for the Bears.
Only three athletes for the men's side finished, therefore not scoring as a team.
Kit Jackson finished 52nd with a time of 25:51.01. Nick Strayer finished 82nd with a time of 26:26.93 and Kadyn Kabuga finished 115th with a time of 26:59.97.
The Bears will compete next at the Princeton Fall Classic, Saturday, Oct. 18.
