Field Hockey Hits the Road to Face Northeastern; Providence College

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Fresh off an opening weekend sweep, the Brown Bears (2-0, 0-0 Ivy League) hit the road for the first time in 2023. The Bears travel to Dedham to take on the Northeastern Huskies (3-1, 0-0 CAA) on Friday night before squaring off against cross-town rival Providence College (2-2, 0-0 Big East) on Sunday.
Friday's game is set to begin at 6 p.m. with Sunday's game starting at 1 p.m. Both games will stream on FloSports.com.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown picked up a 3-0 season-opening win over LIU and a 2-1 overtime win over Holy Cross in the first weekend of play at Goldberger Family Field.
- Brown finished the opener against LIU with a 20-3 edge in shots and finished the game against Holy Cross with a 37-9 advantage.
- Five different Bears found the back of the net as Lucy Adams, Imogen Govan, Zoe Lawrence, Lexi Pellegrino, and Lindsey Ross all scored. Ross added an assist over the weekend to lead the team with three points.
- First-year Kylee Del Monte picked up both wins in goal, recording a pair of saves in each win.
- Northeastern fell at ninth-ranked Louisville, 3-1, to open the season but have since taken wins over Bellarmine, Holy Cross, and Merrimack to enter the weekend with a 3-1 record.
- The Huskies exploded in an 8-2 win over Holy Cross last weekend.
- Lauren Rowe leads the team with five goals and 12 points through four games. Lauryn Wojcik has four goals to trail Rowe.
- Kristine Merashoff has played nearly every minute in goal in 2023. She holds a .741 save percentage and 1.81 goals against average.
- Friday marks the 25th meeting between Brown and Northeastern in a series dating back to 1982.
- In last year's meeting on College Hill, Brown took a 3-1 win to snap a seven-game skid against the Huskies.
- The Bears will look to make it two straight wins in the series for the third time, previously doing so in 1983-84 and 2000-01.
- Providence College enters the weekend with a 2-2 overall record after opening the season with losses to 17th-ranked Boston College and Maine. The Friars took consecutive 1-0 wins over Bryant and LIU last weekend.
- Lisa McNamara and Celia Preveza scored for the Friars in the wins.
- Asia Porter holds a .828 save percentage and 1.25 goals against average in all four games this season.
- Sunday marks the 40th meeting between the Bears and Friars in a series dating back to 1982.
- Providence holds a 27-10-2 all-time series edge and have won six straight dating back to 2015.
- The teams met annually from 1982-2019 and again in 2021.
