CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Brown (2-2) led at the half 7-5, but Harvard (5-0) was able to pull away with a victory, 48-14, on Saturday afternoon on Mignone Field.
Remaining scoreless until the 32-minute mark, Chloe Headland put Harvard ahead 5-0. Eight minutes later, Nikki Lynch's try and Julia Murray's conversion put the Bears in front 7-5 at the break.
Harvard dominated the second half to take a 48-7 lead before Lynch's second try of the game and Kendall Cunningham's conversion, made it 48-14.
"Two weeks in a row, it was the tale of two halves," said Kathleen Flores Women's Rugby Head Coach Rosalind Chou. "We played the best rugby I've seen from this squad to date in the first half, executing our game plan nearly perfectly. In the second half, we found ourselves on the back foot and started to have execution errors. However, the team has a lot of potential and we are headed in a great direction."
Chou added, "Lynch's try at the half was a result of excellent pressure from Hattie Grant, and Tarn Reilly is showing her capacity to play at the highest level. Akilah Cathey made Kathy Flores proud today in the No. 8 jersey. We will get back to work and are happy to return home to host Navy."
