Women's Tennis Wraps up Play at Bulldog Invite and Milwaukee Classic

NEW HAVEN, Conn. / MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – Brown women's tennis wrapped up play at the Bulldog Invitational and ITA Milwaukee Classic on Sunday afternoon.

The Bears took three of four doubles matches against Yale. Junior Lindsey Hofflander and sophomore Phoebe Peus, freshmen Dani Ben-Abraham and Anne Yang, and junior Gabby Soliman and freshman Hannah Shen all won in doubles.

Peus and Shen continued their strong play into singles to come away with wins.

Over in Milwaukee, sophomore Vivian Miller picked defeated Oklahoma's freshman Zdena Saforova in a tightly contested match.

"We came out strong in doubles and played aggressively and with clarity," said Head Coach Lucie Schmidhauser. "Phoebe and Lindsey played some great doubles with near-flawless execution and relentless net game, putting their opponents under pressure every point. Our doubles teams of Annie and Dani as well as Hannah and Gabby made big strides in their doubles game this weekend, playing their best doubles against Yale."

"Yale responded well in singles and kept us on defense in most singles matches," said Schmidhauser. "Our freshmen battled hard; Hannah competed extremely well and without fear against a quality opponent to win in two sets and both Annie and Dani had chances in their 3-set losses. Phoebe once again played aggressively and with clarity, making her opponent earn every point. She continues to grow as a competitor and it is great to see her continued development. This weekend was a great experience for our team, both in Milwaukee and at Yale. Our players are excited to get back on the practice court to address their areas of opportunity and to continue to grow their game and competitive abilities."
