
Five Members of Women's Lacrosse Invited to Irish Women's National Team Training Camp

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Five members of the Brown women's lacrosse team have been selected by Ireland Lacrosse to the callback roster for Women's National Team trials, to be held Oct. 28-29, in Dublin, Ireland. The selections include head coach Katrina Dowd, seniors Julia Ford and Mia Mascone, and sophomores Annie O'Connor and Kiki Tormey.
A total of 40 North American candidates were selected for the callback camp in Dublin. It is the largest and most talented group ever selected to advance. They will join Irish and United Kingdom based players in Dublin for a two-day National Team training camp and final team selection.Â
Dowd was capped for the Irish Senior Women's National team at the 2022 World Championship. She finished the tournament second overall in points (36), second in goals (26), and seventh for draw controls (36). Her highlights include scoring the game-winning goal in double overtime vs. Germany to close out the tournament.
Tormey was capped for the Irish U21 Women's National Team at the 2023 U21 European Championship. She finished the tournament second overall in goals scored (19) and eighth in points (20). Ireland finished fifth overall, the highest placement of an Irish team in European Championship competition.
