Women's Rugby Announces 2023 Schedule

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Kathleen Flores Women's Rugby Head Coach Rosalind Chou has announced the program's 2023 fall schedule.
The seven game slate features six NIRA conference matches and a non-conference home match against Penn State. The Bears also host Canadian foe St. Francis Xavier in a preseason match (Aug. 27).
The team will play its home games at Berylson Family Fields within Brown's Erickson Athletic Complex.
"We are just so excited to get started with our second season with the team," said Chou. "We've got some great incoming student-athletes and have grown the roster with some enthusiastic walk-ons and look forward to facing some new NIRA opponents in Navy and Queens University of Charlotte.
"It will also be a great test for us to see how we stack up with a non-conference opponent and 12-time National Champion from the D1 Elite Conference, Penn State. We made some considerable strides last spring with several 15s fixtures intermingled with 7s, so I hope we build on that momentum going into this fall season."
Brown begins the regular season with a home match against Princeton (Sept. 2) before hitting the road to take on Sacred Heart (Sept. 9), Queens (Sept. 23), and Harvard (Sept. 30).
The Bears return to College Hill to finish the regular season with matches against Navy (Oct. 7), Penn State (Oct. 14), and reigning NIRA Champion Dartmouth (Oct. 29).
