Volleyball Earns USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's volleyball team earned the 2023 United States Marine Corps and the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award and was awarded Honor Roll Distinction, finishing with a team GPA in the Top-20 percent of Division I women's volleyball programs, the AVCA announced on Thursday (July 13).
The Bears continued their strong success in the classroom, earning the Team Academic Award for the 13th-straight season. To earn the award, a team must post a year-long GPA of 3.3
"Our student-athletes at Brown work incredibly hard to achieve at the highest levels in both volleyball and the classroom," said head coach Taylor Virtue. "I'm grateful to the AVCA for recognizing those achievements and I'm grateful to Brown for the support our team receives to pursue both goals."
The USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award honored more than 1,300 collegiate and high school volleyball teams this year.
