AUSTIN, Texas – Brown junior Zach Love competed in the long jump at the NCAA Track & Field National Championships on Wednesday evening. Love finished the event 23rd overall with a mark of 7.10 meters, earning him Honorable Mention All-America accolades.
Love, who was one of just eight competitors in the long jump from non-Power Five programs, leaped 7.10 meters on his third and final attempt of the competition, with his All-America title the first such honor of his career. The performance capped an incredible junior season for Love, who earned Second Team All-Ivy honors with his runner-up finish in the long jump at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships. His personal record of 7.58 meters is tied for third all-time on the program's Top 10 Performers List. He qualified for the national championships after grabbing the 12th and final spot at the NCAA First Round in Jacksonville on May 25.
Including the long jump, Love's name appears six times on Brown's Top 10 lists, including No. 2 in the 100m dash (10.58), t-9th in the 200 meters (21.52), two marks tied for seventh all-time in the 4x100m relay, and No. 3 in the 4x400m relay.
