PROVIDENCE, R.I. -Â No. 5 Brown women's crew is ready to make its 26th-consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championships after hearing its name called as an at-large pick during Tuesday night's selection show.
The Championships run from May 26-28 at Camden County Boathouse on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J. This will be the first time that the Championships will be hosted in Pennsauken.
Brown, Princeton and Washington are the only three programs to appear in every NCAA Championship since its inception in 1997.
Brown's Varsity 8 boat is seeded fifth and will race in lane four of Heat 3 against Gonzaga, California, Stanford, Ohio State, and Jacksonville.
Bruno's Second Varsity 8 picked up a ninth seed and will compete in lane two of Heat 1 against Indiana, Yale, Ohio State and Southern California.
The Bears' Varsity 4 is seeded third and is set to race in lane three of Heat 3 with Navy, Michigan, Virginia, Southern Cal, and George Washington.
The 22 team field consists of 11 automatic qualifiers and 11 at-large selections. Brown is one of four Ivy League teams set to compete along with Princeton, Penn, and Yale. The Ivy League is tied for the most teams from a conference with the Pac-12 and Big-10, while the ACC will have three teams competing.
Brown has captured seven NCAA Championships since 1997 and look to make it number eight in 2023. The Bears have 17 top-5 finishes and 24 top-10 finishes in Championship history.
Â
Brown leads all programs with seven NCAA titles with Washington (5), Cal (4), Ohio State (3), Virginia (2) and Texas (2) as the other programs to win multiple titles. Harvard and Stanford have each won one Championship. Texas is the two-time defending national champion.
