Women's Crew Finishes Strong at Big Ten Invitational

SARASOTA, Fla – The No. 6 Brown women's crew team finished the Big Ten Invitational with two more wins and a second-place finish in four total races on the day.

Brown's First Varsity 4 and Second Varsity 4 both won their races against No. 2 Stanford, No. 11 Ohio State and No. 13 Michigan. Placing second was the First Varsity 8, while the Second Varsity 8 finished fourth in its race.

"We finished the regatta on a strong note with everyone giving it their best," said John Murphy, Loyalty Chair for Women's Crew. "We will be back to work on Monday and looking forward to the Ivy Invitational next weekend."

The A4 clocked an impressive time of 6:54.754, ahead of Stanford (6:56.451), Ohio State (7:10.479) and Michigan (7:14.583).

Brown's B4 also won its race by nearly six seconds, clocking in at 7:05.866. The Bears finished in front of Ohio State (7:11.095) and Michigan (7:26.118).

In second place was the 1V8 (6:12.637), only behind Stanford (6:09.584) and in front of Michigan (6:14.527) and Ohio State (6:21.541).
