LAS VEGAS – Former Brown offensive lineman Chad Broome-Webster '22 is headed to the pros after signing a contract with the XFL's Vegas Vipers.
Broome-Webster joins a list of over 70 former Brown alums that have gone on to play professionally, and is the first to sign with an XFL team.
Broome-Webster spent five seasons on the Bears roster from 2017-2021, appearing in 31 games. He earned Second Team All-Ivy honors in 2019 and 2021 and was named Academic All-Ivy League in 2021 for his work in the classroom. As a senior, he was the winner of Brown Football's Paul K. Sloan '97 Offensive Lineman Award and helped anchor an offensive line that assisted Brown's offense to average 29.5 points per game and lead the Ivy League with 445.3 yards of total offense per game.
In 2019, Brown finished second in the Ivy League and 15th nationally in total offense (454.5 yards per game) and second in passing offense (301.1 yards per game), 10th best in the nation.
Playing their first season in Vegas, the Vipers are off to a 2-7 start this season and sit fourth in the XFL's North Division. They are led by head coach Rod Woodson, who is a 17-year NFL veteran, Super Bowl XXXV champion and 2009 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee.
