Women's Water Polo Set for Harvard Invitational

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's water polo will take part in the Harvard Invitational this weekend, playing six games from Friday (March 3) to Sunday (March 5).
The Bears will begin the weekend on the road at Harvard on Friday and will play La Salle and Siena in Cambridge on Saturday. Saturday night Brown will host Carthage before hosting Redlands and Wagner on Sunday.
ABOUT BROWN (10-2, 0-1 CWPA)
- Brown dropped its first conference matchup of the season last weekend, falling to Princeton. The Bears returned to the pool to beat LIU later in the day to cap off a weekend split.
- The Bears are ranked No. 20 in the most recent CWPA Top-25 Varsity Poll
- Zoe King is the leading goal scorer for the Bears with 19 netted so far this season. Claire Pisani and Alexandra Love each have 14 goals and Lily Weiser has 13.
- Weiser leads the team with 12 assists this year and Claire Eusey is second on the team with 10.
- On defense, Madeleine Poissonnier leads the team with 16 steals, while her older sister Claire is second on the team with 11.
- In net, Shauna Franke leads the Bears with 67 saves and Roxanne Hazuka is second with 39.
ABOUT HARVARD
- The Crimson are 8-2 on the season but 0-1 in CWPA play with a loss to Princeton. Harvard's only other loss was a defeat at Indiana in the second game of the season.
- The Crimson are ranked No. 19 in the most recent Women's Varsity Top 25.
- This will be the first meeting of the season between the Bears and the Crimson.
ABOUT LA SALLE
- La Salle is 9-5 coming into the weekend with a loss at Princeton in its last game.
- The Bears beat La Salle 10-4 in the first game of the season.
ABOUT SIENA
- Siena is 2-5 on the year, losing two games last weekend and picking up a win over Chapman.
- Brown earned a 14-6 win over La Salle in the Bruno Classic.
ABOUT CARTHAGE
- Carthage is 1-4 on the season. The Firebirds won their first game of the season but have dropped four-straight.
- This will be the first meeting between Brown and Carthage.
ABOUT REDLANDS
- Redlands is 1-7 on the season, picking up a win against Westcliff the last time the Bulldogs were in the pool. Redlands is ranked No. 6 in the Women's Varsity D-III Top 10 poll.
- This is the first meeting between Brown and Redlands since 2017, when the Bears won 11-2.
ABOUT WAGNER
- Wagner is ranked No. 14 in the latest Varsity Top 25 poll and is 14-3 on the season.
- The Seahawks beat Brown 8-6 in the first meeting this season.
