PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Brown women's tennis won its third-straight match Friday afternoon at the Pizzitola Sports Center, defeating Bryant University 7-0.

The Bears boost their record to 9-3 with a 6-1 mark on their home courts, while the Bulldogs drop to 7-4.

In doubles play, it was the junior pair of Ali Benedetto and Olivia Mariotti winning, 6-4, while the sophomore duo of Gabby Soliman and Lindsey Hofflander took a 6-0 decision to give the Bears a 1-0 match lead.

Brown kept thins rolling into singles play. Junior Nora Lee at fourth singles (6-1, 6-0) and Benedetto at first singles (6-0, 6-3) made it a 4-0 advantage and secured the match victory for the Bears. Brown completed the sweep after wins by Mariotti at third singles (6-4, 6-1), Soliman at second singles (6-3, 6-4), Hofflander at sixth singles (6-2, 6-3) and Ahlstrom at fifth singles (6-2, 6-3).

"I liked how intentional our performance was today," said Head Coach Lucie Schmidhauser. "We had a couple of new doubles combinations, but our players handled the situation well and figured out a way to complement each other."

"I felt our singles play was very focused and all of our players were clear with how they wanted to play and execute. I thought Ali and Nora did an exceptional job with extremely "locked in" performances and clarity of gamestyle. As a team, we continue to play disciplined tennis and each player on our team continues to improve her game. I look forward to our doubleheader on Sunday against quality opponents in UMass and Fordham."
