PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A preseason honor has rolled in for Brown baseball's Tobey McDonough, who has been named to Perfect Game's Preseason All-Ivy League Team.
A senior anchor of the Bears' starting rotation, McDonough was named First Team All-Ivy in 2022 after posting the third-best ERA in the league at 3.17. Finishing the season as the team's top weekend starter, McDonough led the Bears with 11 starts, and held opponents to a .226 average while posting a WHIP of 1.11.
Last season, he picked up his first career win at USF, tossed a complete game at Gardner-Webb, allowed one run on two hits over 6.0 innings of work against Northeastern, and allowed just four hits and two runs over 7.0 innings of work to earn the win at Dartmouth. He also allowed just one run and four hits over 7.0 innings of work at Ivy regular season champ Penn. He closed the year with a strong performance at Cornell on May 7, striking out seven and allowing just one run on five hits over 7.0 innings of work.

McDonough and the Bears will open up the 2023 season on February 24 at Georgia State.
