
Equestrian Begins Spring Season with Fourth-Place Finish at URI Show

ASHAWAY, R.I. – Brown equestrian began its spring season finishing fourth in the URI Show over the weekend. In total, the Bears had four first-place finishers and finished one point behind third place.
Sophia Ekstrand took first in the Open Fences and Charlotte Bain took fifth in the event. Both riders competed for Brown in the Open Flat as well.
In the intermediate Flat, Sophie Butcher took first and Amber Keown-Lang finished third. Keown-Lang finished fifth in the Intermediate Fences.
Daphne Maniatis took third in the Limit Flat and fifth in the Limit Fences. Sydney Fritz was fourth in the Limit Fences and sixth in the Limit Flat.
In the Novice competition Haitian Zhou took first. Alix Hamon took first in the Pre-Novice, while Ariel Montague finished fourth and Grace Skavdahl took sixth.
Linda Wang finished fourth in the Introductory and pointed out into the Pre-Novice Division. Xinwei Li took sixth in the Introductory.
