Field Hockey Falls at 11th-Ranked Boston College

NEWTON, Mass. – The Brown Bears (4-7, 0-4 Ivy League) held a 1-0 halftime lead over 11th-ranked Boston College (8-5, 1-3 ACC), but the Eagles struck for four goals in the second half to take a 4-2 win on Monday.
Katie McCallum scored her second goal of the season with 5:06 remaining in the first to give the Bears the early lead. Imogen Govan carried the ball toward the end line and found McCallum in the center for the go-ahead marker.
Kylee Del Monte (10 saves) made consecutive saves on BC's first penalty corner of the game with three minutes remaining in the frame to keep the Bears ahead.
After a scoreless second quarter, the Eagles broke through halfway through the third with Peyton Hale finding the back of the net following BC's 11th penalty corner of the game.
Simone Hefting put the Eagles ahead with 5:46 remaining in the third, finding a rebound following a penalty corner.
Hale and Hefting both scored their second goals of the game in the fourth quarter to push the BC lead to 4-1.
Lexi Pellegrino scored her third goal of the season off a penalty corner in the final seconds to cut into the lead, blasting a quick shot past Caroline Kelly (1 save). Mikayla Walsh and Govan picked up the assists.
The Bears return to Ivy play next Sunday (Oct. 15) with a trip to take on the Columbia Lions (3-9, 0-4 Ivy League). Sunday's game is scheduled to begin at noon and will stream on ESPN+.
