
Women's Basketball Hires Brianna Thomas as Assistant Coach

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown's Elizabeth F. Turner '98 Coaching Chair for Women's Basketball Monique LeBlanc has announced the addition of Brianna Thomas to her staff as an assistant coach.
Thomas most recently served as an assistant coach at Colby College since 2021. While at Colby College, Thomas assisted in all aspects of the program, including recruiting, scheduling and building a leadership curriculum for captains. She also served as the lead assistant for the guards.
"I am thrilled to be adding Bre to our staff. She has a great mind for the game, and a passion for leading and connecting with student-athletes," said LeBlanc. "Bre has tremendous experience playing and coaching at the highest levels of basketball, as well as a familiarity and understanding of high-academic institutions. Bre will hit the ground running and make an immediate impact in our program. We are very excited she's here!"
Prior to Colby College, Thomas was a graduate assistant at Boston College overseeing the managers and helping the coaching staff with scouting. She also spent a year as the assistant coach for the Merrimack College women's program, assistant in all aspects of the program in its first year as a Division I program.
Thomas got her start in coaching as a graduate assistant at Duquesne, serving on the staff for two seasons. Thomas was on staff for the first Duquesne team to make the sweet sixteen of th WNIT in 2017-18.
Prior to being a graduate assistant, Thomas was a four-year team member, three-year captain and two-year starter for the Dukes. Thomas made the postseason in all four seasons at Duquesne, making the NCAA Tournament in 2015-16 as the A-10 regular season champion and defeating Seton Hall in the First Round. Thomas was a member of three other teams to play in the WNIT.
