Field Hockey Closes Non-Conference Slate Tuesday at Providence College

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Bears (6-8, 1-5 Ivy League) close out the non-conference slate with a trip across town to take on the Providence College Friars (9-6, 3-3 Big East) Tuesday night at Lennon Family Field.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- The Bears are coming off a weekend with a close loss to 17th-ranked Cornell on Friday before exploding offensively for a 7-2 win over Georgetown Sunday on Senior Day.
- Imogen Govan leads the team with nine assists and 15 points through 14 games. She is tied for third on the team with three goals alongside Zoe Lawrence and Jodi Porto.
- Lexi Pellegrino scored twice against the Hoyas for a team-leading six goals this season. Katie McCallum ranks second on the team with four goals.
- Junior goalkeeper Ella Edmonds made her first start of the season Friday against Cornell and finished with four saves. She added four more saves in the win over Georgetown and holds a 1.50 goals against average and .727 save percentage.
- First-year Kylee Del Monte holds a 1.49 goals against average and .753 save percentage in 12 starts this season.
- The Friars enter Tuesday with a 9-6 overall record and 3-3 Big East mark. PC is tied for third in the conference with a crucial game against Villanova this weekend.
- Ally DeCoste leads the team with eight goals and 16 points this season. A trio of Friars – Lisa McNamara, Eleonore De Keyser, and Celia Preveza – rank second on the team with five goals and 13 points each.
- Asia Porter has started all 15 games in goal for Providence and holds a 1.54 goals against average and .723 save percentage.
- Tuesday night marks the 40th meeting between the Bears and Friars in a series dating back to 1982.
- Providence holds a 27-10-2 all-time series edge and have won six straight dating back to 2015. The teams met annually from 1982-2019 and again in 2021.
