PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A mid-season honor has rolled in for Brown fifth-year wide receiver Wes Rockett, who has been named to the Phil Steele Mid-Season All-America team. Rockett, who is one of 10 Ivy Leaguers recognized, was named to the Second Team.
A consistent and dominating part of Brown's offensive attack through the first half the 2023 season, Rockett enters this weekend's game at Cornell leading all of FCS Football in receiving yards per game with 115.6, and is fifth in the nation in receptions per game (7.4) and fourth in all-purpose yards (158.4) per contest, while leading the Ivy League in each of those categories. He is the only player in the Ivy League averaging over 100 yards receiving and is second on the team with four total touchdowns (three receiving, one rushing).
A two-time Second Team All-Ivy selection, Rockett opened up the season with a 123-yard, two touchdown performance against Bryant and followed that up with 149 yards receiving at Harvard and 148 yards against Central Connecticut State. He racked up 90 receiving yards and rushed for 25 yards and a score against URI, and tallied 68 yards receiving in last weekend's overtime win over Princeton.
Off to its first 3-2 start since 2015, Brown heads to Cornell to face the Big Red in an Ivy League matchup this Saturday at 1 p.m.
