Men's Water Polo Hosts Four Games This Weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown men's water polo will host four games this weekend as part of the Harvard invitational. The Bears will play two games on both Saturday (Oct. 14) and Sunday (Oct. 15).

The Bears will start the weekend facing off against George Washington at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and will play Salem at 3 p.m. later in the day. On Sunday, Brown will take on Pomona-Pitzer at 9:30 a.m. and finish the weekend at 2 p.m. against Occidental.

SCOUTING THE BEARS

Brown comes into the weekend after splitting two games last weekend, beating MIT and falling to Harvard.
The Bears are led on the season by Ilias Stothart with 35 goals and Gabe Chang with 26.
The Bears next five top goal scorers are all first years at Brown with Jaxson Tierney having 22 goals followed by Mate Tymcyna (18), Goran Narancic (14), Mac Berry (12), and Ramzi Megalli (10).
Brown has used three different goalies this season with Kole Newman leading the team with 44 saves, Ryan Miele having 37 and Joe Gallagher with 23.
Stothart has been on a tear in the last two weekends with one five-goal game and two four-goal games in the last five contests.

SCOUTING GEORGE WASHINGTON

George Washington is 7-8 on the season and is coming off a 15-14 overtime win over Mount St. Mary's in its last game.
Victor Jovanovic leads the team with 44 goals on the season.
Brown and George Washington last played in 2021 when the teams split two games. George Washington won the last meeting 12-11 in double overtime.

SCOUTING SALEM

Salem is 10-1 on the season with its only loss being a 14-17 loss to Navy.
Nikola Krstonosic leads the team with 58 goals and 101 total points. Ivan Zivojinovic is second on the team with 53 goals and 73 total points.
Brown has won the two meetings against Salem with an 18-8 victory last season.

SCOUTING POMONA-PITZER

Pomona-Pitzer is 5-12 on the season but has won its last two games.
Brown is 2-1 against Pomona-Pitzer all-time, including a 12-11 win at home last season.

SCOUTING OCCIDENTAL

Occidental is 7-10 on the season and will play three games before taking on Brown to end the weekend.
Brown and Occidental have met once before with the Bears earning a 13-6 win back in 2015.
