Reigning back-to-back Ivy Champion women's soccer announces 2022 schedule

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Head Brown women's soccer coach Kia McNeill has announced the team's 2022 schedule. The slate features 16 games, including nine nonconference tilts and nine home games at Stevenson-Pincince Field.
"I'm excited to announce our 2022 schedule," McNeill said. "The past few years, my staff and I have worked hard to make sure that we build a schedule that will provide the competition we need to get ready for conference play, and this year is no different. The Ivy League has proven to be one of the top conferences in the country for women's soccer so it's important that we play nonconference opponents who will challenge us and push us to our potential.
"Hosting Ohio State, heading out to Oklahoma State, and our other in-region games against top teams is going to be tough, but I think our team has shown we can rise and more importantly, excel, in tough games. I can't wait to get back on the field with my team in August."
The Bears open their season on Aug. 26 at Albany followed by a second road game at Rhode Island on Aug. 28. Play at Stevenson-Pincince opens against reigning Northeast Conference champion and NCAA Tournament participate Central Connecticut State on Sept. 1.
Other high-profile nonconference home games include Ohio State (Sept. 8) and Providence (Sept. 15). The Bears will also hit the road to take on Oklahoma State (Sept. 18) for the second time in as many seasons.
Brown begins its quest for a third straight Ivy Title on Sept. 24 at Dartmouth. The first Ivy game at Stevenson-Pincince will be Oct. 1 against Columbia. Ivy play will wrap with a Nov. 5 Senior Day match against Yale.
In total, the schedule features opponents from eight different conferences, including the Big Ten, Big 12, and Big East, and six matchups with teams that participated in the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
The Bears have a chance to become the first program to win three straight outright Ivy Titles since Harvard did so from 1995-97. The last time Brown won three in a row came during the team's historic run of eight straight titles from 1982-90.
