
18 Bears Earn CRCA Scholar-Athlete Recognition

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's crew program saw 18 student-athletes named CRCA Scholar-Athletes, announced by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association earlier Friday.
Brown's 18 selections are the second-most in the Ivy League and tied for fourth-most in the NCAA. MIT led the nation with 21 CRCA Scholar-Athletes with Harvard and Stanford following with 19 honorees. Brown, Georgetown, and Rutgers each had 18 honorees.
Student-athletes must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Additionally, to be eligible, athletes must be sophomores or higher and have competed on an NCAA boat in 75% of the team's races during the season. 18 of Brown's 25 NCAA athletes were named to the year-end list.
In total, 838 Division I student-athletes were named CRCA Scholar-Athletes. Across all Divisions and including the Lightweight programs, a total of 1,123 student-athletes earned CRCA Scholar-Athlete recognition.
Brown's 18 selections mark the most since 20 Bears earned CRCA Scholar-Athlete recognition in 2020. The 18 selections in 2022 also marks the fifth straight season double-digit Bears have been honored by the CRCA and sixth time in the last nine seasons.
