PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's crew team opens the spring season with a race tomorrow against the Princeton Tigers and Ohio State Buckeyes on Lake Carnegie.
Saturday's races are set to begin at 8 a.m. and will stream on ESPN+.

Ohio State joins the Ivy powerhouses in the opener for the fifth time tomorrow.
After winning the Class of 1987 Trophy in 2014, 2015, and 2016, the Bears have seen the hardware go to the Tigers in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Overall, the Tigers hold a 21-12 head-to-head record when competing for the trophy.
Against the Buckeyes, the Bears have won the 1V8 race three of four times in the opener at Lake Carnegie, beating OSU in 2007, 2016, and 2019 with the lone loss coming in 2013.
For the Bears, Saturday's race kicks off a spring slate with competitions exclusively on the road. Following tomorrow's opener, Brown heads to Harvard to race against the Crimson (Apr. 2) and then competes in the Big 10 Invitational in Sarasota, Florida on Friday, April 15 and Saturday, April 16.
A final tune-up in Ithaca, New York on Saturday, April 23 against the Cornell Big Red and Dartmouth Big Green leads the Bears into Championship season in the month of May.
On Sunday (May 1), the Bears compete in the Eastern Sprints on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Massachusetts before returning to Princeton for the 2022 Ivy Championships on Sunday (May 15).
Brown finished second at the most recent Ivy League Championship in 2019. The Bears finished third in 2018 after winning the conference title each year from 2014 through 2017.

Since 2000 – the year Ohio State began competing at the national level, the Bears and Buckeyes have combined to win nine National Championships, with Brown taking six and Ohio State taking three.
The Bears hold 12 top-3 finishes at the NCAA Championships since 2000 compared to five for the Buckeyes and three for the Tigers. Brown has finished in the top-5 an impressive 14 times with OSU capturing a top-5 finish 12 times and Princeton doing so seven times.
