PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Brown coed sailing team took second place at a pair of events this weekend. The Bears finished in second out of eight at the Wood Trophy at Harvard as well as the Team Race Invite at MIT.
Â
At the Wood Trophy, Olivia Belda, Jack Murphy, Connor Nelson, Madeleine McGrath, Madeleine Montagner, and Julia Reynolds combined to take second place out of eighth teams. Tufts claimed first.
Â
At the MIT Team Race, the Bears were represented by Hunter Zonnenberg, Jed Bell, Leyton Borcherding, Jacqui Rice, Charlotte Costikyan, Lily Shore, and Helen Horangic. Again, Brown finished in second of eight with Tufts taking first.
Â
The coed team also competed at the Icebreaker Invite and the women competed at the Navy Women's Team Race, but both events were not counted as official due to races being limited due to weather. The Brown teams were in first and third respectively when the events were called.
Â
The Bears will continue competition next weekend with a full slate of coed events.
