2/25/2022 2:38:00 PM | Men's Basketball
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's basketball team will host Columbia this Saturday, Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. on the team's Senior Night at the Pizzitola Sports Center. With two games remaining in the regular season, the Bears need to win both to have a chance at qualifying for the Ivy League Tournament.
Brown currently sits at 4-8 in Ivy action and in sixth place in the league standings, with Harvard and Cornell just above the Bears at 5-6 and 5-7 respectively. Dartmouth is in the mix as well, also at 4-8. At this point, all four teams are technically alive in the race for the playoffs, but things will become a lot clearer following this weekend of games. The top four teams in the league qualify for the postseason.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Fans are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets online at BrownBears.com/tickets prior to their arrival at the Pizzitola Sports Center. Brown Athletics has moved to completely contactless ticketing, so fans should either download their digital tickets to display on a mobile device or print them at home prior to arrival.

- Tamenang Choh continues to climb the ranks in the program record book as last weekend he jumped to 14th all-time in points with 1,292. If he posts two more strong performances to close out the regular season, it's not unrealistic to think he could continue to climb as the next three spots are all within 27 points. 10th place is held by Marcus Thompson '89 at 1,328 and ninth is Mike Cingiser '62 at 1,331.
- Choh is also sixth in program history in rebounds with 841. There is only one player in program history that is higher on both the points and rebounds list than Choh, that being Arnie Berman '72. Berman is second in points with 1,668 and fourth in rebounds with 878.
- With his 20 points against Penn, Kino Lilly Jr. moved into fourth place all-time in points by a Brown freshman with 364 on the season. He is two points away from taking over third, currently held by Mike Waitkus '86. First and second place on the list are held by Desmond Cambridge's 17-18 freshman season (468) and Earl Hunt '03 (460).
- Columbia has lost its last 10 games in a row, with its most recent win coming on Jan. 8 against Penn. In that time, the Lions have lost by single digits only twice, the closest of the two games being an eight-point loss to Harvard on Feb. 18.
- The Lions' 67.2 points per game and 78.8 points against per game are both eighth out of the eight Ivy League teams.
- Ike Nweke leads Columbia in both points and rebounds on the season with 15.9 and 6.3 respectively. Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa's 3.3 assists per game are a team high.
- Brown picked up a 93-74 win over Columbia in the teams' first meeting this season back on Jan. 22 in New York. It was the Bears' third straight victory over the Lions.
- In the game, Choh led Brown with 20 points and eight rebounds, while Paxson Wocjik contributed 15 on 4-of-6 shotting from three.
- Nweke led the Lions with 16 points and nine rebounds.
