Schulze Named Newcomer of the Week by GEC

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown freshman Taylor Schulze has been voted the GEC Co-Newcomer of the Week following a strong performance in two events at Sunday's Rumble & Tumble quad meet.
Schulze posted a career-high of 9.800 on bars and led the team with a 9.775 on beam, both putting her in third place overall in each event. Her performance on bars was one of 11 career-highs posted by Brown gymnasts at the meet, and helped the team post a season-high 193.225 points in a meet that also featured LIU, Southern Connecticut State and Rhode Island College.
Schulze's honor is the third weekly award won by a Brown gymnast this season, joining Julia Bedell (Newcomer of the Week) and Mei Li Costa (Performance of the Week) back on February 9.
The Bears will next compete this Sunday at the Ivy Classic, hosted by Yale.
