INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Brown struck first early on Forrest's fifth goal of the season, off assists from Anna Gallagher (8) and Cameron Sikich (6).
- The goal gives Forrest at least one point in eight of her last nine games.
- The Golden Knights went 1-or-2 on the power play, without committing a penalty themselves.
- Clarkson out shot Brown 40-25 in the game and held a 22-21 edge on faceoffs.
- The eight goals allowed by the Bears were a season-high.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bears jumped on the board first with Forrest putting Brown in front just 4:31 into the game. Sikich sent a pass ahead along the boards to Gallagher, who skated into the zone and fed a wide-open Forrest in the slot, who one-timed it inside the left post to spot the Bears the early lead.
- The momentum was short lived as Clarkson responded with four straight goals to close out the period, the first of which came just 1:14 after Brown jumped ahead. The Golden Knights' second goal came with just five seconds remaining on a power play at 10:20 of the period. They added one more at 11:44, and tacked on their fourth marker of the period with 17.5 seconds left.
- Clarkson tacked on two more goals to bookend the second period of play, scoring at the 2:03 mark and again at 16:14 to extend the lead to 6-1 after two periods.
- Clarkson padded the lead with two more goals late in the third period at the 14:55 and 16:46 marks so complete the game's scoring.
