ITHACA, N.Y. – The Brown women's tennis team fell 2-4 to Penn on the first day of the ECAC Championships on Friday (Feb. 11).
Addison Ahlstrom and Britany Lau combined for a win at No. 3 doubles. In singles play, Ali Benedetto earned a straight-set win at No. 2 and Hofflander earned a win at No. 6 with both sets going to a tiebreak.
Today's match came down to a few points that didn't go our way in big moments, but I felt we improved our overall competitiveness and willingness to stay in matches and fight," said head coach Lucie Schmidhauser. "Ali Benedetto did a great job in her singles match sticking with her aggressive play. We need to continue to work on focusing on our performance goals and staying courageous in pressure situations."
Brown will continue play at the ECAC Championships on Saturday (Feb. 12) at 11 a.m. against an opponent yet to be determined.
