Mackenzie Leahy named Ivy League Rookie of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Brown women's basketball freshmen Mackenzie Leahy earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors after her play during the first week of the season.Â
Leahy averaged 8.7 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game. The West Dundee, Ill., native also handed out six assists and had two steals during Brown's three games.Â
Leahy finished the week shooting 42 percent from the field and 63 percent (5-for-8) from three point range. She also made five of her six free throws.Â
At Duquesne, Leahy finished with 11 points and five rebounds. She followed that up with 12 points at Wagner. Leahy hit two threes in both games.Â
Leahy and the rest of the Bears will be back in action at home on Wednesday (Nov. 14) against Sacred Heart at 7 p.m.
