Men's basketball comes up short at Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. – The Brown men's basketball team fell to Dartmouth 58-46 Saturday night on the second night of an Ivy back-to-back. The Bears fall to 1-2 in league play, while the Big Green improve to 1-1.

Tamenang Choh led all scorers with a game-high 23 points. He earned his second double-double of the season by grabbing 12 boards. Kino Lilly Jr. had seven for the Bears, while Perry Cowan and Dan Friday each had five.

Brown started fast and had a quick 10-0 lead just four minutes into the game thanks to five points from Choh, three from Lilly, and two from David Mitchell. The Big Green offense began to wake up after that, but the Bears held on to a 21-14 lead with 3:36 remaining in the half.

Dartmouth would end the first frame on a 10-2 run to take the 24-23 lead into the locker room.

The teams traded buckets to open the second half, with the Bears taking the lead three times, the last of which came at 11:35 on a Cowan two that put Brown up 35-34.

The Big Green followed that bucket with 14 straight to take a 48-35 lead. The Bears battled back to get within four at 48-44, with Choh recording six of the Bears' nine points in that stretch.

Unfortunately for Brown, that's as close as it would get as Dartmouth closed out the game with a three and a trio of free throws.

The Bears are back on the court next Saturday, Jan. 15 at 4 p.m. at Princeton to play their sixth straight road game.
