Scouting the Bears (8-8, 0-1 IVY)
- Tamenang Choh has found his stride as of late for the Bears, averaging 20 points and nine rebounds over three games last week. He recorded his first double-double of the season when he tied his career high of 26 points at Penn, while also grabbing 13 rebounds. Against Harvard in 2019-20, he averaged 15 points per game.
- Jaylan Gainey is five field goal attempts away from becoming the all-time program leader in field goal percentage. For the category, the Brown record book sets a minimum requirement of 200 attempts. So, while his career percentage of .687 (134-for-195) is well above first place, he is still five attempts short of qualifying. Jim Turner '86 currently holds the record at .602.
- Kino Lilly Jr. is getting close to cracking the top ten in program history for points in a season by a freshman. His total currently sits at 203 and is just 43 points shy of passing Peter Sullivan '08 and Brandon Anderson '17 who are tied for ninth at 245.
- This will be Harvard's first Ivy League contest of the season after last weekend's game against Princeton was postponed. It will be the Crimsons' first game action since a 77-69 win over Howard on Dec. 21.
- Harvard's four losses on the year have come by an average of just 5.75 points, with the largest margin of defeat at 10 points against Massachusetts. Their victories have been by an average of 12 points.
- Chris Ledlum leads the team with 16.7 points per game. He also has a team-high 9.4 rebounds per game that is also tops in the Ivy League.
- The game between the Bears and Crimson will feature four of the Ivy League's top 11 rebounders. Ledlum leads the league at 9.4, with Choh second at 8.0, Harvard's Noah Kirkwood sixth at 5.8, and Gainey 11th at 5.1.
- Dartmouth dropped its Ivy League opener last week to Cornell, 79-71. Despite leading at halftime, the Big Red came back to claim the victory in the second half by outscoring the Big Green by nine in the frame.
- Dartmouth has lost eight games in a row. Their last victory came on Nov. 28, a 63-61 overtime road win at Bryant.
- Brendan Barry's 14.7 points per game lead the Big Green, while Aaryn Rai's 7.3 rebounds are a team high. Barry's 44 made threes and 41.9 three-point percentage are both team-bests as well.
- Brown trails the all-time series against Harvard 76-102. The Bears have won the last three matchups and swept the two meetings in the 2019-20 season. It was the Bears' first season sweep of the Crimson since the 2007-08 campaign.
- The all-time series between the Bears and Big Green is currently tied at 80 games apiece. Brown has taken all four of the most recent meetings.
