Britany Lau continued her strong play to open the spring semester as she earned victories in both of her No. 1 singles matches on the weekend. Lau also teamed up with Addison Ahlstrom to sweep both matches at No. 3 doubles.
Ali Benedetto and Lindsey Hofflander won both of their matches at No. 1 doubles.
Benedetto, Hofflander, Ahlstrom, and Gabby Soliman all earned victories in singles against UMass.
Full results can be seen below.
"UMass definitely challenged us on Saturday and forced us to dig deep and really compete to the last point," head coach Lucie Schmidhauser said. "We are still learning how to raise our level of play when our opponents start playing better and today we did a good job of steadying the ship when the momentum was starting to get away from us."

"BU always competes extremely hard and today was no exception," Schmidhauser said. "We did a great job in doubles coming from behind and raising our level of play when it counted. In singles, BU simply outcompeted us in 5 of the 6 singles matches in the final stretch, which is a good lesson for our young team. I'm confident our players will learn from today's experience and will grow from it.
"Ali and Lindsey continue to play great doubles at line 1 and our new doubles pairing of Britany and Addie showed a lot of promise. In singles, Britany Lau continues to approach each match with total clarity of a winning game-style and true competitive grit and it's been great watching her grow into a fierce and gritty competitor."
