WEYMOUTH, Mass. – The Brown women's tennis team fell 4-3 in a tightly contested match Tuesday at Boston College.
"Our overall competitive energy was better today than in our previous match," head coach Lucie Schmidhauser said. "The goal for our team is to relish the opportunity to be in competitive situations and to have the courage to come up with our best play in clutch moments.
"Britany Lau continues to lead the way for our team with her fearless play in big moments, beating another high-level opponent at line 1 singles. Ali Benedetto and Lindsey Hofflander played high-level doubles by consistently putting their opponents on defense and finishing at the net. Addie Ahlstrom showed a lot of fight and resilience in her singles match getting her first collegiate dual match win and Olivia Mariotti is becoming a fierce competitor, which is great to see."
Britany Lau picked up the win at No. 1 singles, as did Olivia Mariotti and Addison Ahlstrom at No. 4 and 6 respectively.
Ali Benedetto and Lindsey Hofflander teamed up to win No. 1 doubles.
"The team is excited to get back on the practice court on Thursday to address the areas of needed improvement," Schimdhauser said. "I'm confident we will be one step better this weekend against tough opponents at the Dartmouth Invitational."
