
Eight Men's Tennis Players Named ITA Scholar-Athletes

PROVIDENCE, RI - Eight members of the Brown Men's Tennis program were named 2021 Scholar-Athletes by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. In addition, the Brown Men's Tennis Team received All-Academic Team honors from the ITA as well.
The eight individuals who were named scholar-athletes are Alan Arocho (Jr. - Norridge, IL), Chun Lam (Fr. - Sai Kung, Hong Kong), Robert Siniakowicz (Jr. - West Windsor, NJ), Niraj Komatineni (So. - Mason, OH), Matthew Mu (So. - La Jolla, CA), Roger Chou (Jr. - Austin, TX), Ross Cornelissen (Fr. - Providence, RI) and Theodore Van Eck (Sr. - Rye, NY).

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:
- have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
- be listed on the institutional eligibility form
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:
- have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale),
- all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and
- all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year
