5/28/2021 10:00:00 AM | Women's Sailing, Coed Sailing
Brown University athletics will be recognizing its spring senior student-athletes throughout the months of March, April, May, and June. Senior student-athletes will be featured during the week on Brownbears.com and various social media platforms.
Â
Name: Elizabeth Rolfes
Hometown: Bainbridge Island, Wash.
Sport: Sailing
Concentration: Economics and Environmental Studies
                                                                                                 Â
Favorite experience as a Brown student-athlete:
In 2019, I got the opportunity to volunteer at the College Sailing National Championships in Newport and Brown won Women's Nationals that year!
Â
Plans after graduation:
I will be moving to Washington, D.C. to work for an environmental economics consulting company as an economic analyst.
Â
The best part of being on your team is:
How supportive everyone is of each other, both on and off the water. Regardless of your past sailing experience, if you are willing to put in the effort to improve, everyone respects you and will help you grow your skills in any way that they can.
Â
Favorite activity outside of your sport:
I love hiking and backpacking. My parents met working at Yellowstone, so I spent my childhood visiting national parks all around the West. While at Brown, I have enjoyed exploring the White Mountains and central Maine.
