
Men’s Track & Field Earns Two Bids to the NCAA East Preliminary

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's track & field program had two student-athletes qualify for the NCAA East Preliminary round. The regionals will take place May 26-29 at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla.

Junior Kegan Schroeter (Narragansett, R.I. ) qualified for the hammer throw while sophomore Kevin Fairchild (Phoenix, Ariz.) qualified in the javelin for the Bears. Both student-athletes will compete on Wednesday, May 26 at 1:30 p.m.
The preliminary rounds are divided into two regions, East and West. The top 12 finishers of each region will earn a trip to the NCAA National Championships June 9-12 in Eugene, Ore.
Schroeter qualified for the hammer in the team's meet versus Providence College, where his throw of 207'4" ranked third all-time on Brown's all-time top performances list and was a career best. Fairchild earned his qualifying standard while competing at Bryant and winning the event with a throw of 218'0', which was also a personal best.
