
Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month 2021: JJ Eno ’08, Baseball

Throughout the month of May, Brown Athletics will celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month through a series of profiles. Over the course of the month, the Bears will recognize Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders who have made an impact on the university community and beyond.
JJ Eno '08, Baseball
A two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American, JJ Eno helped the Bears win the 2007 Ivy League title and make an appearance at the 2007 NCAA Championships. A Second Team CoSIDA Academic All-American in 2007 and a Third Team CoSIDA Academic All-American in 2008, Eno was cut from the team as a freshman in 2005 before earning a spot on the team as a walk on in 2006. Over his three seasons with the Bears, Eno posted a .286 batting average over 93 games with 47 runs, 73 hits, 14 doubles, six home runs, and 45 RBIs. As a junior in 2007, he hit .309 over 33 games. As a senior in 2008, he tallied a .290 average over 43 games with 26 runs, 42 hits, 10 doubles, three triples, four homers, and 33 RBIs. A Neuroscience concentrator at Brown, the Kahului, Hawaii, native and H.P. Baldwin High School product proceeded to earn an M.D. from Warren Alpert Medical School in 2012. Since earning his medical degree, Eno has gone on to serve as a Resident Physician in Orthopedic Surgery at Stanford Health Care (2012-17), an Assistant Team Physician with the New York Mets (2017-18), a Clinical Fellow for Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York (2017-18), and as an Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgeon at Kaiser Permanente in California since 2018.
