Throughout the month of March, Brown Athletics will celebrate Women's History Month through a series of profiles. Over the course of the month, the Bears will recognize women who have made an impact on the university community and beyond.
Vanessa Toney Bobb '96, Women's Track & Field
Vanessa Toney Bobb '96 was an all-around student-athlete at Brown, competing in track & field in her time at College Hill. A leader on the team, Bobb was a two-time team captain in her junior and senior seasons. She was a Heptagonal Outdoor Champion in the triple jump in 1996 with a leap of 40'3.5" which also earned her First Team All-Ivy laurels. For her work in the classroom, Bobb was a two-time Academic All-Ivy selection, earning the honor in 1995 for indoor and 1996 for outdoor. Studying Biology at Brown, Bobb later went on to attend Brown Medical School. She is currently the Behavior Health Medical Director of Children's Services at CDPHP. Bobb is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. She was a 2019 peer reviewer for the National Institutes of Health Child Health and Human Development, Scientific Review Branch, and is a past executive committee member of New York Public Psychiatry. Bobb was also previously recognized as a Castle Connolly top doctor.
