Three Bears Named to US Lacrosse’s All-Black Women’s Lacrosse Team

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Three Brown women's lacrosse alums were named to the US Lacrosse All-Black Lacrosse Team on Thursday in an announcement by the organization. Bre Hudgins '14 led the trio as a starting attack while her sister, Marissa Hudgins '18, and Paris Waterman '11 were named Honorable Mention.
In part of US Lacrosse's partnership with Blaxers Blog, and in celebration of Black History Month, the organization released men's and women's All-Black Lacrosse Teams, celebrating over 50 Black men and women who have accomplished great feats on the field at the college and professional levels. The teams are comprised of current and former student-athletes.
Bre earned back-to-back Second Team Northeast All-Region honors in 2013 and 2014. She ranks second in Brown history with 136 career goals and third with 167 points. Over her four years, she was named First Team All-Ivy twice and made the Second Team as a freshman.
Marissa was named Second Team IWLCA All-Northeast Region and First Team All-Ivy as a senior. All-time at Brown, Marissa ranks second in caused turnovers (79) and 11th in draw controls (88). She received Second Team All-Ivy honors as a junior and was an Honorable Mention selection as a sophomore.
Waterman was a two-time First Team All-Ivy honoree (2010, 2011) and made the IWLCA Northeast Region team twice, with First Team laurels in 2010 and Second Team accolades in 2011. She was also selected to the U.S. National Team in 2011. Academically, Waterman earned Academic All-Ivy honors in 2010. She stands ninth all-time at Brown in career caused turnovers (58) and is 19th in draw controls (61).
