Field Hockey Hosts Princeton on Senior Day Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown returns to Goldberger Family Field to close out the 2021 home slate on Saturday (Oct. 30) against Princeton. Brown's Senior Day game is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+.
Brown's three seniors will be honored for their contributions to the Brown field hockey program prior to the Ivy League match: Amanda Cooper, Emma Rosen, and Danielle van Rootselaar.

SCOUTING BROWN (6-9, 2-3 Ivy)
- Brown enters the first of two final games with a 6-9 overall record and 2-3 Ivy League mark. The Bears most recently fell in double overtime at Cornell (Oct. 23).
- Van Rootselaar leads the Bears offensively with 12 goals, five assists, and 29 points. The senior also leads the team with 109 shots and 65 shots on goal.
- Van Rootselaar ranks third in the conference and 13th in the country with 0.80 goals per game. She is third in the Ivy League and 12th nationally with 1.93 points per game.
- Freshman Mikayla Walsh is second on the team with 11 points through 15 games.
- Jodie Brine has started 13 games for the Bears in goal and ranks fifth in the Ivy League and 31st in the country with a .734 save percentage. As a team, Brown ranks second in the Ivy League and 14th in the country with a combined .776 save percentage.
- Princeton enters Saturday's conference match with an 8-7 overall record and 4-1 mark in conference play. The Tigers fell to 25th-ranked Monmouth on Tuesday (Oct. 26) as the Hawks took a 3-2 overtime win at Princeton.
- The Tigers have played in four straight overtime games and seven this season, holding a 3-4 record in overtime games. Princeton's seven losses have all come against nationally-ranked opponents in 2021.
- Beth Yaeger leads the Tigers with 16 goals and 38 points. She is tied for the conference lead and is tied for fourth in the country with 1.14 goals per game. Yaeger leads the Ivy League and is fifth in the country with 2.71 points per game.
- Ali McCarthy is second on the team with 17 points and Sammy Popper is third on the Tigers with 16 points.
- Robyn Thompson has started 10 games for Princeton in net. She holds a .608 save percentage and 1.96 goals against average. Isla Okkinga has made five starts in net for Princeton and holds a .735 save percentage with a 1.62 goals against average.
- Saturday's game marks the 44th meeting between the Bears and Tigers in a series dating back to 1979.
- Princeton holds a 34-8-1 all-time record in the series and have not fallen to the Bears since 1999.
