Brown Heads to Cornell for Saturday Afternoon Showdown

Brown will hit the road once again next weekend for a trip to Franklin Field to take on Penn on Saturday, Oct. 30. Kickoff will be at 1 p.m. on ESPN+.

- Coming off its biggest offensive output of the season, Brown heads to upstate New York to take on Cornell in a battle of teams with identical 1-4 (0-2 Ivy) records. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon on ESPN+.
- Both team's victories this season have come at home against Colgate.
- Last week against No. 20 Princeton, Brown scored a season-high 42 points and totaled 490 yards of offense and 159 yards rushing, both their second-highest outputs of the season.
- Cornell grabbed its first win of the season last Friday night, 34-20 over Colgate, helped by a 21-point second quarter and 479 yards of offense, which included 241 rushing yards and 238 yards on the ground.
- Saturday will be the 68th matchup all-time between the two schools on the gridiron, with Brown holding a 37-29-1 edge in the series.
SCOUTING BROWN:
- Quarterback EJ Perry has thrown for 300 yards or more in eight consecutive games dating back to Nov. 9, 2019 against Yale.
- EJ Perry threw a career-high five touchdown passes against Princeton. He also rushed for a season-high 82 yards on 16 carries.
- Brown has scored 143 points through the first five games of 2021, which matches their point total through all 10 games of the 2018 season.
- After averaging 14.30 points per game in 2018, Brown scored 30.0 points per game on average in 2019 and is averaging 28.6 through the first half of the 2021 season.
- Brown has scored a defensive touchdown in each of its last two games, a 74-yard fumble return by Shane Prevot against Colgate, and a 71-yard scoop and score by Joseph Shell against Princeton.
- Brown is outscoring opponents 74-24 in the fourth quarter.
- Junior wideout Wes Rockett has registered at least 75 yards receiving in three of the five games this season. His 6.2 receptions per game rank 20th in FCS.
- Rockett recorded his first career multi-touchdown game last week against Princeton, scoring touchdowns on three of his five receptions.
SCOUTING CORNELL:
- The Big Red are coming off their lone win with a 34-20 victory over Colgate last Friday (Oct. 15). It was Cornell's first win on a Friday since Nov. 18, 1892.
- Cornell's defense allowed just 82 rushing yards to the Raiders, while their offense ran for over 230 yards. The Big Red also scored a rushing touchdown for the 10th-straight game, their longest streak since 2007-08.
- Thomas Glover has been the leading receiver for the Big Red with 68.2 yards per game, 29 catches and one touchdown. Alex Kuzy is second on the team with 23 catches and averaging 63 yards per game.
- On defense, Cornell has allowed at least 20 points in all five games this season. Jake Stebbins leads the team with 40 tackles and Lance Blass is second on the team with 33 tackles.
