Name: Will Mims
Hometown: Asheville, N.C.Â
Sport: Men's Soccer
Concentration: Behavioral Decision Sciences and Economics
Favorite experience as a Brown student-athlete:
My favorite experiences as a student-athlete always came through team travels. There is something magical and exciting about traveling with your sports family to an unfamiliar place, attempting to accomplish a shared goal. The subsequent bonding as a result of traveling is something extremely hard to replicate and led to some of the most enjoyable experiences I have had while being a student-athlete.Â
Favorite spot on campus:
To work and study my favorite place on campus is the Rockefeller Library's second floor room overlooking Providence. My favorite place to relax is the patio area outside of the Blue Room.Â
One thing most people don't know about me:
I am currently a researcher at the Brown Medical School!
Favorite activity outside of your sport:
I enjoy volunteering at a program called Young Entrepreneurs of Providence (YEP), a Nelson Center initiative to involve local high school students in entrepreneurship.Â
Most memorable game/contest:
My most memorable game came my sophomore year. We traveled to play URI for an in state rivalry as they were 6-0 and ranked #6 in the country. We played a great game and ended up winning the game with 6 seconds left in double overtime. It was an amazing moment with the team in front of a massive hostile crowd.
