LAST TIME OUT
Brown defeated Holy Cross, 14-11, on Tuesday, March 3 at Stevenson-Pincince Field behind a strong second half defensive effort. The Crusaders turned the ball over 12 times in the second while the Bears never trailed in the period and outscored the visitor 6-4. Sophomore Erin Tucker made a total of 10 saves, her second game this season with double digit stops, to lead Brown. Senior KC Williams paced the Bears' offense, tying her career high of four goals. Junior Maggie Fowler also tied her career high with three tallies while sophomore Sophia DeRosa was the third scorer to register a hat trick while adding an assist.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Yale is 2-2 so far this season and 0-1 in the Ivy League with an 11-5 loss to No. 12 Penn last Saturday. The Bulldogs have wins over Hartford (17-10, Feb. 25) and La Salle (16-12, Feb. 15) with their other loss coming against Albany (12-9, Feb. 22). Olivia Markert leads the team in scoring with 15 points on 13 goals and two assists. Bri Carrasquillo is second with 10 points, all on goals, while leading Yale in draw controls (28). Payton Vaughn anchors the Bulldogs' defense with six caused turnovers with Olivia Penoyer adding a team-high 12 ground balls. Two goalies have shared time between the pipes with Clare Boone leading the duo in starts (3), goals-against average (10.40) and save percentage (.509). Amelia Drake has started two games, recording wins in both, and has a 12.67 GAA and a .424 save percentage.
ALL-TIME VS. YALE
The Bulldogs hold the all-time series advantage at 36-8-1. Brown captured last year's contest, 14-11, in Providence, R.I. with junior Risa Mosenthal and sophomore Sophia DeRosa each scoring four goals. Yale last won in 2018, 19-17, on its home field.
BEAR LEADERS
Sophomore Sophia DeRosa leads the team with 17 points on 14 goals and three assists. She has recorded a hat trick or better in three of Brown's five games this season. Junior Risa Mosenthal is second in scoring with 13 points on 12 goals and one helper while sophomore Claire Jeschke is behind her with 12 points (9G, 3A). Defensively, junior Allison Lanzone leads the team in caused turnovers with seven and scored her first-career goal last Saturday against Dartmouth. Junior Mason Warble and sophomore Erin Schafer are tied for second in caused turnovers (6) while Schafer has a team-best nine ground balls. Warble leads the Bears in draw controls with 22 while freshman Emmie Lau has contributed 20. Sophomore Erin Tucker has started all five games in net and has a 10.03 goals-against average and a .451 save percentage. Tucker registered a season-high 11 saves last Tuesday against No. 17 Boston College with seven stops in the second half.
CENTER FOR LACROSSE AND SOCCER
Brown unveiled its new Center for Lacrosse and Soccer at Stevenson-Pincince Field on Feb. 18. A premier facility for lacrosse and soccer that will enhance both the team and game day experience and replaces the existing press box and stands in the same location. The approximately 22,500 square foot building has a grandstand to accommodate 1,250 people, as well as concessions and restrooms located on the concourse level. The building will have event space for game-day hosting and team gatherings, new staff and team locker rooms, a training room, and players will have direct access to the field through a tunnel.
TOUGH COMPETITION
Brown has already played two ranked opponents this season in No. 16 Dartmouth (Feb. 29) and No. 17 Boston College (Feb. 25). The Bears are scheduled to play five more ranked opponents based on this week's IWLCA rankings - No. 1 UNC, No. 5 Florida, No. 9 Penn, No. 11 Princeton and No. 22 Virginia Tech.
CHASING CAREER MARKS
A 2019 First Team All-Ivy selection, junior Risa Mosenthal is chasing multiple program records. The Campton, N.H. native has recorded 118 goals and 18 assists for 136 points. Her 118 goals are already third-best at Brown while her 136 points are ninth.
FOWLER WITH THE HELP
Junior Maggie Fowler is currently ninth all-time at Brown in career assists with 39. Her 23 assists in 2019 led the team a year ago while her five helpers this season lead the 2020 Bears. Fowler's 1.00 assists per game average ranks seventh in the Ivy League.
MOSENTHAL NAMED TO TEWAARATON WATCH LIST
Junior attack Risa Mosenthal was named to the Tewaaraton Watch List for the second-straight year on Feb. 13. A First Team All-Ivy selection in 2019, Mosenthal has led the Bears in scoring for two-straight seasons and registered 59 points on 51 goals and eight assists a year ago. She broke the school record for goals in a game with nine against Fresno State (Mar. 31), which also tied the Ivy League record. Mosenthal led the conference in goals per game (3.64) and was sixth in points per game (4.21) last season. As a freshman, Mosenthal was named Second Team All-Ivy and earned a spot on the Inside Lacrosse All-Rookie Team while leading the Bears in points (64) and goals (55). Her 55 goals were second best all-time at Brown for a season while her 64 points were the third highest. The Tewaaraton Award is given annually to the most outstanding American college lacrosse player. The 20th annual Tewaaraton Award Ceremony will be held May 28, 2020 at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, DC.
WINNING AT THE DRAW
Brown is currently 13th in the nation in draw control percentage, averaging a .606 win percentage. Junior Mason Warble leads with team with 22 draws on the season while freshman Emmie Lau has 20, including 10 from last Saturday vs. No. 16 Dartmouth. The Bears tallied a season-high 18 draws against Siena on Feb. 18. Brown is third in the conference in draw controls per game (14.20), trailing Cornell (14.60) and Princeton (16.25).
CONVERTING ON FREE POSITIONS
Brown is third in the nation in free position percentage at .632. The Bears have converted on 13 free positions this year with junior Risa Mosenthal and sophomore Sophia DeRosa leading the squad with four apiece.

THREE IVIES RANKED IN NATIONAL POLL
The Ivy League - a consistent factor in the national women's lacrosse landscape - boasts a trio of ranked teams in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Coaches Poll. Penn (9), Princeton (11) and Dartmouth (15) are all ranked in the poll.
IVY LEAGUE TOURNAMENT
The 2020 Ivy League Women's Lacrosse Tournament will be held at the site of the top seed on Friday, May 1 and Sunday, May 3 with the conference's top four teams playing in the tournament.

PRESEASON IVY LEAGUE POLL
Brown was selected to finish fifth with 57 points in the 2020 Ivy League Women's Lacrosse Preseason Poll. Princeton was predicted to finish first with 13 first-place votes and 125 points while Penn followed in second with three first-place votes and 112 points. Dartmouth (92 points) and Cornell (79 points) rounded out the top four while Harvard (48 points), Yale (36 points) and Columbia (27 points) finished sixth through eighth.
BEARS WELCOME EIGHT NEWCOMERS
Brown added eight players to its 2020 roster. The freshmen include: attack Nathalie Ahn, midfielder Essie Atherton, midfielder Lydia Bongiorno, attack Lily Hagerup, midfielder Emmie Lau, midfielder Mia Mascone, attack Gabby Sartori and defender Katie Silver.
2019 RECAP
Brown went 8-7 overall in 2019 and finished tied for fourth with Cornell in the Ivy League standings with a 4-3 conference mark, its best conference record since the 1999 season (4-3). A total of six Bears earned All-Ivy honors with Risa Mosenthal leading the group with First Team accolades. Mason Warble made the Second Team while Erin Schafer and Erin Tucker were picked Honorable Mention for the 2020 returning team members. Warble was also selected to the IWLCA All-Northeast Region Second Team after leading the Bears in caused turnovers (32) and ground balls (41). Her 32 caused turnovers are tied for fourth best in a season at Brown while her 41 ground balls were 15th. Warble ranked second in the conference in caused turnovers per game (2.13) and was fifth in ground balls per game (2.73).

Brown ranked 11th in the country in 2019 in caused turnovers per game, averaging 11.33. Junior Mason Warble led the defense with 32 caused turnovers while sophomore Erin Schafer (22) and senior Emily Fyrer (20) forced 20 or more turnovers.

Sophomore Erin Tucker returns between the pipes after earning Honorable Mention All-Ivy honors in 2019 while starting all 15 games in her rookie campaign. Tucker recorded an 11.54 goals-against average and a .428 save percentage and made double digit saves in eight games. She tallied a collegiate best 13 saves at Dartmouth and also added a career high six ground balls versus the Big Green. Junior Cait Barrett also returns after appearing in five games last season.
