Women’s Water Polo’s Presiado, Pisani Garner CWPA Weekly Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University women's water polo sophomore goalkeeper Marley Presiado and freshman utility Claire Pisani have garnered CWPA weekly awards after helping lead the Bears to a 5-1 weekend, the Collegiate Water Polo Association announced on Tuesday.
Presiado (Newport Beach, Calif.) earned CWPA Defensive Player of the Week honors while Pisani (Redwood City, Calif.) gained CWPA Rookie of the Week accolades, marking the second straight week that the Bears have collected the conference's rookie of the week award.
Presiado made 32 saves on a .667 save percentage last week as Brown went 5-1 at the Bruno Classic. She made 12 saves and allowed just four goals in a 9-4 win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, stopped nine shots with three goals allowed in an 11-3 win over Whittier, and blocked nine shots with six goals allowed in a 14-6 win over Austin.
Pisani totaled 12 goals, two assists, and four steals last week, helping the Bears start the season with a 7-1 record. She scored four goals in each of two games – against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and No. 18 Wagner. She posted two goals, an assist, and a steal against Austin and notched one goal, one assist, and one steal in a 10-6 win over Long Island University.
Next, Brown plays at the Marist Invitational on Saturday, February 22 against Mercyhurst (10:30 a.m.) and La Salle (4:45 p.m.).
