ITHACA, N.Y. - The Brown men's tennis team fell to Penn, 4-1, in its final match of the ECAC Championship on Sunday at the Reis Tennis Center. The Bears went 1-2 in the tournament, with a win over Yale on Saturday, to move their overall record to 7-2.
"The big take away this weekend is that we were in each and every match," said head coach Tim Gray. "We are quite young in several spots, but we gained a lot of experience that will definitely benefit us down the road."
Penn opened the day with a 6-0 win in third doubles and took a 1-0 advantage after a 6-3 win in the top spot. The Quakers increased their advantage to 3-0 with victories in first and sixth singles, respectively. Senior Peter Litsky (St. Petersburg, Fla.) gave Brown its first point with a 7-5, 2-6, 6-2 win in third singles but Penn would come back in fourth singles after falling in the first set to clinch the mach.
The Bears will next host Boston College on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 4:00 p.m.
