PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's rugby alum Tiara Mack '16 was named a recipient of the inaugural 15 Under 30 Award by the U.S. Women's Rugby Foundation (USWRF) on Friday. The award highlights those who exemplify the best qualities of rugby and bring those qualities to the field, to their teams, to the sport and to local and global communities.
The 2020 recipients were nominated and reviewed by a selection committee made up of coaches, administrators, referees and journalists.
Mack was named to the inaugural All-American Team for 15s in her senior season (2015-16) and was a member of the Brown team that reached NCWVRA Quarterfinals and Ivy League Championship in her final year. Additionally, Mack was a key piece of the program's first varsity season in 2014-15. Outside of rugby, Mack recently won the Rhode Island State primary as the Democratic Senator for District 6.
