
White, Chou Earn Brown Student-Athlete of the Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Women's soccer junior forward Star White and men's tennis sophomore Roger Chou have earned Brown University Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Sept. 23-29, Brown announced on Monday.
Star White, Women's Soccer, Junior, Norfolk, Va.
Junior forward Star White scored the game-winning goal in the Bears' 2-1 victory over Dartmouth on Saturday in the Ivy League opener for both teams. A native of Norfolk, Va., White netted the game winner in the 56th minute breaking a 1-1 tie and making Brown the first team to score two goals on Dartmouth in 2019 as the Big Green entered the match with only two goals allowed. White tallied her third goal of the season, her 13th career goal, and fifth career game-winning goal. She also netted the game winner in the Bears' overtime win over Dartmouth in 2017.
Roger Chou, Men's Tennis, Sophomore, Austin, Texas
Sophomore Roger Chou tallied a 3-0 singles record and 2-1 doubles mark last weekend as the Bears competed at the Brown Invitational Friday through Sunday. A native of Austin, Texas, Chou opened the weekend with a 6-1 win at second doubles and 6-2, 7-5 win at fourth singles against Villanova. On Saturday against Bryant, he earned a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles and a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles. Chou closed the weekend with a 7-5, 6-3 win at third singles against Boston College. His only setback of the weekend came in a 7-6 (4) decision at No. 1 doubles against the Eagles.
