
Wang, Perry Earn Brown Student-Athlete of the Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Women's rugby senior flyhalf/center Karina Wang and football junior quarterback EJ Perry have earned Brown University Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Sept. 16-22, Brown announced on Monday.

Karina Wang, Women's Rugby, Junior, Ottawa, Ontario
Junior flyhalf/center Karina Wang recorded two tries to help lead Brown to a 54-19 victory over American International College on Saturday at Ronald J. Abdow Field in Springfield, Mass. A native of Ottawa, Ontario, Wang scored the Bears' first try of the game to help Brown take a 7-0 lead. Her second try of the game aided Brown in pulling ahead 42-19. The victory helped the Bears improve to 2-1 in Tier II play.

EJ Perry, Football, Junior, Andover, Mass.
Junior quarterback EJ Perry accounted for 410 yards of total offense and five touchdowns to spark Brown to a 35-30 win over Bryant in its season opener on Saturday in Smithfield, R.I. A native of Andover, Mass., Perry rushed for 227 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries and completed 21-of-32 passes for 183 yards and three scores. The Boston College transfer's 227 rushing yards stand as the eighth-most in Brown history and the most by a quarterback. His 94-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter marked the second-longest run in team history.
