PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's tennis head coach Lucie Schmidhauser has announced the program's two-member class of 2023, set to begin competition with the Bears in the upcoming 2019-20 season.
Gabriella Dellacono
Hometown: Stonington, Conn.
High School: Stonington
Before Brown: Played first singles at Stonington High School … Compiled a 78-3 record in her high school career, going undefeated three-straight regular seasons … Went undefeated all year (27-0) in 2018 … Ranked No. 106 in the USTA National rankings and was second in Connecticut and sixth in New England … Three-time Eastern Connecticut Conference Champion and First Team All-State selection … Led her team to the State Team Semifinals as a sophomore and was the CT State Singles Open Runner up … Guided her team to CT State Team Finals and was the CT State Open Singles Tennis Champion as a junior … Named CT Coaches Tennis Player of the Year (2018) … Team captain … Member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society … Achieved the Academic Honor Roll all four years.
Why Brown?: "I chose Brown because of the challenging open curriculum that allow for the freedom to pursue different career pathways. I also chose tennis at Brown because I felt a desire to play with highly competitive and likable team members, play in an outstanding conference and tennis facility, and wanted to further develop my tennis skills. Finally, I loved Coach Lucie and her approach to the game!"

Hometown: Kinnelon, N.J.
High School: Kinnelon
Before Brown: Competed in tennis at Kinnelon High School … Selected First Team All-Conference … Three-time Morris County Champion … Received the Bronze Ball for doubles in 16s on hard courts (2018) … National selection 18s doubles winner in 2019 … Finalist at May National Selection for 18s in singles (2019) … Winner for singles and doubles in March L3 18s … Played in the No. 1 spot all four years … Member of the National Honors Society, Spanish Honors Society and the Math Honors Society … Member of the Executive Board of English Honors Society.
Why Brown?: "I chose Brown because I am given the opportunity to be in a top institution while also being able to play a high level of DI tennis. I have always loved Brown since I was little so I jumped on the opportunity."
