
Paul, Lomuscio Earn Brown Student-Athlete of the Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Women's track & field senior multi-athlete Carly Paul and baseball sophomore outfielder Joe Lomuscio have earned Brown University Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Apr. 8-14, Brown announced on Monday.

Carly Paul, Women's Track & Field, Senior, Fort Collins, Colo.
Senior multi-athlete Carly Paul set a school and Ivy League record in the heptathlon as she wrapped up a second-place finish at the Tennessee Relays. A native of Fort Collins, Colo., Paul racked up 5,632 total points – the fifth-best mark in the nation this season – as the top collegiate athlete in the field. Paul broke her previous school record of 5,509 and the previous Ivy League record of 5,530. Paul won both the high jump (5-8.5) and long jump (20-4.5) events and set personal-bests in five events – the 110 hurdles (14.31), shot put (35-10), 200 (25.43), long jump, and javelin (126-2).

Sophomore outfielder Joe Lomuscio hit .615 with five RBIs and a pair of homers in a three-game series against Dartmouth last weekend. A native of West Roxbury, Mass., Lomuscio posted multiple hits in all three games with his best effort coming in a game two win, when he went 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBIs and two home runs. The center fielder tallied 13 putouts on 13 chances in the field and racked up a 1.154 slugging percentage.
